Timeframes
You can view the Trendsignal indicators on any timeframe or interval you choose. Our "Realtime" trading software can be applied to time, range, tick and volume data. The End of Day trading software is limited to just Daily, Weekly and Monthly charts.
Time
Trade from charts starting at just 1 second intervals, all the way out to Monthly timeframes. You have complete freedom to choose the interval that best suits your trading style. For Forex, we typically favour a 15 minute chart for day trading, whilst preferring a 5 minute chart when day trading indices.
Range
Range bars are a relatively modern way of presenting data. When analysing “Range” data, the size of each bar is set by you. Therefore, if you choose a Range of 5 ticks (minimum price movements), each bar will be limited in size to the same. As the price rallies or falls a new bar will be formed. Time is therefore irrelevant and in sideways markets very few new bars will be formed. Conversely, in fast moving markets, new bars will open and close very quickly, which can enable you to get in and out with greater ease.
Tick
Tick charts analyse data on a trade by trade basis. Each trade in the market will result in a new tick. You can select the number of ticks before a new bar is formed. Therefore, is you select a 50 tick bar, a new bar will be formed after every 50 trades on the market selected. Time again is irrelevant, with new bars being opened quicker the more active the market. In quiet times when very little trading is being done, overnight perhaps, bars will be much slower to form.
Volume
Volume charts analyse data dependant on the amount of volume being traded. The more shares or lots being traded, the faster the bars will update. You can select the volume to be traded before a new bar is formed. Therefore, if you select a 100 volume bar, a new bar will be formed after every 100 shares or lots traded on the market selected. This is particularly useful in times when high volume is being traded and again, bars will update slower in quieter, less liquid markets.
